The Advantages Of DVD Guitar Courses

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Reggie_Dunn]Reggie Dunn

So you want to be a rock and roll star? Or maybe you just want to learn a few chords so the guitar that you purchased isn't going to end up collecting dust in the corner. You may be asking yourself what approach you should take to learning the guitar. The traditional and obvious choice would be to open up the yellow pages and find an affordable private guitar instructor, but is this really the best and most cost effective way to learn guitar? There is a new approach to learning guitar which has become increasingly more popular and that is learning to play the guitar with DVD guitar courses. Are DVD courses right for you? Well, I am going to go over some of the advantages of learning guitar with this method.

1. Cost - The first thing we need to consider is the cost involved in learning guitar. While on the surface DVD guitar courses may seem a bit expensive, let's take a closer look. If you go with a private instructor you are going to be paying by the hour or by the lesson, so the cost of your training will be ongoing. Also, many private instructors will want a commitment and some money down. At least if you purchased a guitar course, it is a one time fee and you will probably have some type of money back guarantee.

2. Time - Let's face it. In today's high paced society , everyone is busy. It's tough to find time to do anything. If you go with as private instructor you are going to have to schedule lessons on his or her time. And of course there is the time involved in packing up your gear and driving to and from the lesson. With a DVD guitar program, you can take lessons on your time and at your own pace.

3. Stage Fright - Do you fold under pressure? Are you embarrassed or shy about playing in front of others? What if you just didn't have time to practice those chords from the last lesson? With DVD guitar courses, you will not have to face any of these problems.

In the end, it is really up to you on how you want to tackle the guitar learning process, but as I have pointed out DVD guitar courses definitely have their advantage.

Do You Want To Learn To Play Guitar Like A Pro? So Do I!

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Barry_Sparling]Barry Sparling

Everyone has it don’t they? That urge to play the guitar, I know I do.

I’ll admit I am a complete beginner, so I need a method that will take me from the very beginning, right through to a decent level of competence.

I don’t have any great ambitions to play in a band or anything, but I am always envious when at a party or a family gathering someone takes out a guitar and starts strumming along, and everyone and I mean everyone stops whatever they are doing to look at the ‘guitar player’. Well I want that ‘guitar player’ to be me!

So where do I begin?

Well no doubt there are plenty of people that each guitar where I live, but this can be time consuming and costly, I would have to phone around to find out how much each lesson would cost, then if I was happy with the cost I would no doubt be tied to a regular time, which may not always be convenient, I mean do I want guitar lessons to control my life or do I just want to learn to play guitar?

I think maybe the best solution is to buy a software package, I fell this will allow me to progress at a pace which is suitable for me will enable me to easily revise anything which I do not understand, which at this point in time will be a lot!

I think what I need is a package that is designed it to be the most complete and easy to follow guitar learning system available. I need it be full of easy-to-follow information. I think I will need step by step video instructions that will show me the secrets of how to play the guitar in great detail.

If you are interested in following my quest to play the guitar, I have set up a [http://www.barrylearnsguitar.blogspot.com/ ]blog here to record my progress.

Learn and Master Guitar Review

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Rich_Matthews]Rich Matthews

When it comes to learning to play guitar, there are so many options available. It is very clear that the most convenient way to learn guitar is through a program rather than a tutor. While a tutor is great, sometime it is hard to fit it into the schedule. When it comes to guitar lesson programs, Learn and Master Guitar by Steve Krenz stands out above the rest.

Learn and Master Guitar has many reasons that make it stand out in the guitar lesson world. One of these reasons is the amount of professionalism put into the lessons. From the moment you get the package in the mail, you will be able to tell that this is no half hearted effort. You will get a book with the lessons printed in it as well as the lessons on DVD. A few CDs are also included with songs that you will learn to play along with. Having the lessons both in print and on video really helps a lot. You can read the information and check out the diagrams as well as watch the videos and see exactly how to do it.

Now we can move onto the negative aspects of Learn and Master Guitar. One of the first things that may make potential users weary is that this excellent quality comes with a bit of a price. It is nothing compared to what you will pay a professional tutor but can be a little shocking at first. As far as the product goes, the only true negative aspect is that Learn and Master Guitar is lacking online features. Having more information online is a great way to stay updated and stay in touch and would truly add a lot to this great program.

What Learn and Master Guitar comes down to is absolutely the best option available for you to learn to play guitar. This is definitely the best option available for the busy person that wants to learn how to play guitar at your own pace and on your own schedule. Learn and Master Guitar has been on top for quite a while now, and I do not see it getting knocked down anytime soon.

Why You Should Learn To Play Guitar Online

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Roger_Kent]Roger Kent

Thinking about an online guitar course? If you have always wanted to try learning guitar, but never had the cash to pay $30 bucks an hour for private lessons, you might find this information useful.

So you have want to buckle down and start learning guitar? Keep in mind that even the most famous, renowned guitarist had to start somewhere. So what's the best way to go about learning guitar? Some people pick up a guitar and teach themselves. Others pay $30 or more per hour to learn in person. However, with more and more people learning how to do things on the computer, ranging from building 20 different kinds of cabins, to making a home-made helicopter out of a lawnmower engine, there is no reason why you can't find a good course to learn guitar on the internet. I will hopefully be able to assist you in finding the best online guitar learning course.

Here are a few reasons of why you might want to consider an online guitar learning course.

1 - Price:

Many online guitar courses cost as little as $20.00 to as much as $100.00. With private lessons, you will pay that in as little as 1 or 2 hours, which is hardly enough time to get you started, plus you will need to make a commitment and keep going every week to continue your training. With online courses, you pay only one time and can access the lessons at your leisure. With the courses that include video, you can download your video lesson and play whenever you want. This is alot more convenient that packing up the guitar and making the trek to your lesson, or cleaning your place and making an appointment for you instructor to come over for your lesson.

2 - Features:

Mostly all online guitar courses include illustrated lessons, audio, and video lessons, and you will have access to them forever. If you forget something you are learning or just want to review, you can always go back to your learning material. For example, the site I will mention later includes over 280 lessons plus over 50 video lessons.

3 - Convenience:

As mentioned in the first tip, you can access your computer-based lessons from anywhere, anytime. You won't have to spend an hour each week in traffic just driving to and from guitar lessons. You don't have to completely reorganize your busy lifestyle to accommodate your guitar teacher. This in itself is worth learning how to play guitar on the computer.

4 - Fun!

Computer based guitar lessons can be a lot more fun than private lessons. Online guitar lessons make the whole learning process more interactive, interesting and enjoyable. Most software packages include learning games, video, and audio jam tracks (or backing tracks). This keeps you, the student more involved, and therefore more motivated. Not to mention that you won't be worried about embarrassing yourself in front of a pro guitar teacher which will only help you learn faster!

Obviously, learning to play the guitar on the computer isn't for everyone. Some people definitely would appreciate the benefit of having an in-person teacher helping them out, especially in the early stages. However, I have found the course that is EXTREMELY easy on the wallet, that everyone with a guitar should look into getting.

I mentioned an online course a few times in this article. You can find out more information about [http://www.learnguitaronvideo.com]this course here.

Free Guitar Tablatures

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Thomas_Morva]Thomas Morva

Guitar tabs or guitar tablatures are of utmost importance to those who play guitar. Guitar tabs are one of the important components for learning new tunes. Usually the guitar tabs come with the lyrics of the song for which the guitar tab is played, and sometimes the interlude or prelude lead part of the music is given through these guitar tabs.

Depending on the nature of the guitar, i.e. a rhythm guitar, a classical guitar, a bass guitar, a twelve string guitar and so on, the guitar tabs vary as these guitars and their arrangements and frets vary in shape, size and purpose. However, a guitar tab is a system of notations, letters, symbols and other visual representations - instead of the traditional musical notation.

The sole purpose of a guitar tab is to give the direction to the player as to how to play a musical piece through a diagram of strings of the guitar. Guitar tabs or a tablature nonetheless consists of a diagram of strings of the guitar with finger positions indicated by numbers corresponding to the appropriate frets and sometimes with the numerical representations of the fingers.

Free guitar tabs are very important for those who are young enthusiasts and are keen on learning the new tunes and technicalities of guitar and especially those songs which have extensive guitar uses, both plucking and other types of fingering as well as lead parts. The Web is the biggest resource for gathering these free guitar tablatures and is much conducive than those costly books at the nearby music stations and book stalls. Free guitar tablatures are those available on the Internet that give oneself the freedom to explore and choose the song or the music he wants the guitar tablatures for. Guitar Lessons

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Russ_Hutto]Russ Hutto

Trying to find the right guitar lesson experience? In this world with all kinds of styles of music and bands, finding someone to teach you what you really dream of playing is kind of tough. One person may be more into jazz, one more into rock, one more into blues. It all depends on the individual.

Have you ever had a guitar lesson that just seemed to never end. Your teacher kept going on and on about stuff you never really wanted to learn anyways? A good guitar lesson should be about teaching you to develop what you are passionate about. If you’re not passionate about classical guitar styles, then why learn them?

Don’t get me wrong a good guitarist is well-versed. This means they can play a variety of styles. But let’s be real. The majority of us just want to just pick up a guitar and PLAY! We don’t want guitar lesson after guitar lesson of boring theory and stuff that doesn’t really help us PLAY!

Anyways, finding the right guitar lesson should be more about finding what YOU like. If you want to play rock music, find a rock guitarist to teach you. If you want to play jazz, find a jazz guitarist. If you want to play classical guitar, then get you some classical lessons.

Guitar is one of the easiest and best instruments to get started on. It’s a matter of learning a few chords and going from there. The problem is finding a teacher who’ll give you a good guitar lesson that doesn’t include all the stuff that really doesn’t matter when it comes down to just playing a song.

It may be hard to find free guitar lessons. Most teachers won’t offer free guitar lessons. If you can find one that’s great. I recommend finding an online alternative if you’re just itching to get started.

I’ve seen some good online sites come and go. If you can find a good online guitar lesson site that is inexpensive you’re doing well! Why? Because you can learn at your own pace and learn what you want to learn.

Information about these sites can be found at any search engine and most offer nice programs. Some are even membership based. My suggestion is to decide what it is exactly that you want to accomplish with your playing and then choose the program that’s good for you.

Many of these sites offer comprehensive chord lessons and finger-picking technique courses that will enhance your skills as you progress. They also offer chord sheets and finger placement charts as well. You should be able to download a small application or set of pdfs/docs that include all this info, if the site is set up well.

Guitar Lesson On DVD - 3 Ways You Benefit From Learning Guitar At Home While Saving Money

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Ian_Henman]Ian Henman

I'll admit, I used to think that there was no better way to learn to play guitar then by taking private lessons. I figured how could anyone learn to play from a guitar lesson on dvd as well as from an instructor in the same room. That was until I bought my first guitar lessons on DVD and discovered that there are big advantages and big savings to be had.

1.) Money: The first benefit you get from learning to play from a guitar lesson on DVD is you save money. How do you save money? Let's assume you pay $10 per half hour lesson, and you take lessons 50 weeks a year (everyone gets 2 weeks vacation right?). That means you spend $500 a year on private lessons.

Trust me when I say you wouldn't spend half of that buying a guitar lessons DVD, and you'd still get at least a years worth of guitar lessons.

2.) Speed: This benefit isn't going to effect everyone but it did me. I found that when taking private lessons I lost interest, I wasn't learning as quickly as I wanted, and because of this was stopping my practice.

As soon as I bought my first guitar lesson on DVD I found I could process more lessons in a week, and in turn I practiced eve more. I was learning at a greater speed then I ever would have in private lessons, unless I stepped up to more then one lesson a week.

3.) Quality: While some people argue that because you don't have someone in front of you to show you how to play guitar you won't get the same quality of instruction. I have to disagree. After being on both sides of the fence, I always found that my private instructors wasted time, or went off on tangents during a lesson when they didn't need to.

In contrast, a guitar lesson on DVD has been pre-recorded. It is what it is, and the instructor isn't going to get off track, they aren't going to start talking about what they did last weekend. It's all about the lesson. In my opinion this gives a guitar lesson on DVD a better quality then a private lesson.

Learn The Guitar Online - 3 Reasons It's Better Then Private Lessons

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Ian_Henman]Ian Henman

There is a stigma attached to learning the guitar online that you cannot get the same quality of education from a website or video as you can from private lessons. While this might be true in some circumstances, I believe that there are obvious benefits to those that choose to learn the guitar online and it goes deeper then just the quality of guitar lessons taught.

1.) When you take private guitar lessons you normally purchase lessons in a set (i.e. 6 or 8 weeks of lessons for a set price) or pay per lesson. Which ever way you look at it you end up paying between $10 and $20 per lesson. Should you need a refersher on something you've already learned your teacher must take part of that $20 lesson and reteach you something he/she has already done before. There by reducing the value of the current lesson.

When you learn the guitar online the lessons are videos and files. They can be reviewed and rewatched at no extra charge to you as often and when ever you want.

2.) I know I've take private guitar lessons before, and I didn't always have the time to practice. Sometimes work, family or friends had to come before I could sit down with my guitar for a half hour each day. The result? I wasn't always prepared for the next weeks lesson when I showed up, yet I still had to pay for the time. I didn't get the most value from that guitar lesson had I practiced the week before.

When enrolled in online guitar lessons there is no teacher checking there watch to make sure you're on time or that you've done your home work. If you don't have the time to practice for a few days, just take a break from you lessons. There isn't any lost cost or time to you. you are in charge of when and how fast your learn the guitar online.

3.) Cost has to be considered, especially since everything is getting more expensive around us. Let's take the example above of $10 per lesson, and assume four lessons of a half hour each per month. That means you pay $40 per month for 2 hours of lesson time. In contrast most online guitar lesson memberships charge under $30 for unlimited access to thousands of minutes of lessons. The value for your dollar is much greater when you learn to play the guitar online.

3 Reasons Learning The Guitar Online is Best

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=B_Matheson]B Matheson

Ever since discovering I could take online guitar lessons I've been hooked. The content is great, it's always available and it's less expensive then taking private guitar lessons offline. This article explores three big reasons why learning the guitar online is best.

Don't feel guilty if you miss a lesson

One down fall I've always found about private guitar lessons is that if I couldn't make it to a lesson I felt bad. I was paying for it and wasn't getting the value. The same went if I didn't have time to practice that week, then the weeks lesson wasn't as valuable because I couldn't profess as I wanted.

When learning the guitar online this is all a thing of the past. It doesn't matter if you miss a lesson, actually you can't miss an online guitar lesson, you take them when it's convenient for you.

You Can revisit old material without wasting time or money

Another thing I didn't like about private lessons was that if you had to revisit something you learned in a previous lesson you didn't want to do it during your lesson time. You were paying to learn to play guitar not to review what you already learned.

Since online guitar lessons are all videos, and stored in a database somewhere you can always refer back to older material and watch it as many times as needed. Just another easy benefit to learning the guitar online.

You can learn any where any time no set schedule.

This is probably the greatest feature to learning the guitar online. Offline guitar lessons are scheduled, same time each week normally. With Online guitar lessons you learn when and where you want. Just need an Internet connection, and likely your guitar. So whether you're a student vacationing retiree or stay at home mom you can learn the guitar online.

Real Lead Guitar Lessons Please - Can Free Lead Guitar Lessons Really Cut It?

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Andrew_Gavin_Webber]Andrew Gavin Webber

Lead guitar lessons and free lead guitar instruction sites. A fact you need to be aware of.

In my search to find some good material for an article on lead guitar, I ran a little search for free lead guitar lessons.
Sitting up at position number one on google for that search phrase was a beauty of a site. A very confusing site with all the potential to teach you how to play lead guitar.
Here's what will happen if you go there. You will end up clicking on an advert. Ironic isn't it? You go there looking for free lead guitar lessons and you end up going some place where they want you to pay.

Now I'm not saying you can't learn to play lead guitar there. I've always believed that perseverance will pay off in the end, but you have to realize that most of these sites are there to make money first, and teaching you some lead guitar lessons is their second priority.
To illustrate my point, I've been playing lead guitar professionally for over 20 years, and even I was confused about where to go for a short lead lesson.

Professional lead guitar lessons on DVD, are they worth it?

Sure, there are some lemons out there, but for the most part these guitar instruction CD's and DVD's are put together in such a way as to make the learning experience as smooth as possible.
I'm not saying that all free guitar lesson websites are as bad as the first one I came across. Some of them aren't half bad, but nothing beats a truly professional product.
Some web based guitar lesson companies have an opt in form where you can sign up for a few free lessons.

I would take them up on the offer for the simple reason that you know they're going to try their darnedest to impress you with the quality of their guitar lessons.
After all, isn't that we're looking for? Quality lead guitar lessons.
Sure, we know that when the lead guitar lessons are over they're going to try and sell you their product.
At least you'll be making an informed decision.

Guitar Lesson Online

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Ricky_Lim]Ricky Lim

Nowadays, there are a slew of websites offering guitar lesson online. Some free and some are paid. With people nowadays so busy with their lives, it is a easy way to earn how to play a guitar right from the comfort of their own homes and at their own pace.

Let’s face it, not everyone has the time to take guitar lessons at a guitar school or from a guitar teacher. Plus, taking guitar lessons is not cheap. It can cost several thousands dollars to learn how to play a guitar. By buying an online guitar course, it is more affordable.

Problem is which online guitar lessons should you learn or buy from? There are literally dozens of such courses online and it can be confusing to the beginner which is the best?

Here are some tips to help you choose which guitar lesson online is suitable for you.

1. Method Of Instruction

Most online guitar courses are offered as a book or manual with some music sheets and so well. More recently, online guitar lessons are conducted using video, audios and online animations. Personally, I prefer videos as it is a lot easier to watch and learn someone play a guitar than through a book. Some even offer email consultation and accompanying software to enable you to learn better.

2. Peer Reviews

Before buying any online guitar course, I always try to get reviews from other people who have used it. One way is to visit guitar forums. You can post a question on who has brought the guitar course you are thinking of buying and their opinions or search the threads. Maybe someone else already has brought it and you can get an idea whether the course is suitable for you.

3. Guarantee

Does the online guitar course offer a guarantee? You would not want to waste your money on some guitar course that does not work for you and have no way to refund. Most reputable online guitar courses will offer a 30 day or 60 day money back guarantee.

Taking guitar lesson online is affordable and easy and you can do it at your own pace. I highly recommend anyone who wants to learn how to play a guitar and does not have a lot of time to try guitar lesson online.
